Turkey is truly an ideal country for elopement weddings. The hillsides with sea views in the Taurus Mountains, or a deserted island off the coast of Karaburun in the Aegean Sea where no one lives, the Black Sea plateaus or the backdrops where vows are said under balloons with a panoramic sunrise view in Cappadocia. Dear Amber and Christophe are also among those who escaped from far away to these places. They live in Florida, USA and they chose Cappadocia, which they have only seen in photos, as the elopement venue. We had a two-day photoshoot marathon with these two colorful personalities. They wanted my two-day double VIP package and of course this package took us from one adventure to another.
First Day
We were again with Gökhan from Story Films for the video. Mehmet, the driver of our VAN type vehicle, was also with us. We met at the house our couple rented from Airbnb before sunrise. When we arrived, hair and makeup were still in progress. After waiting a bit, we all went to the balloon take-off area. We were there just in time and the balloons started to take off at sunrise. We took a short photo so as not to miss this view. The surprise of the day was the puppy dogs surrounding us.
Then we went directly to the Love Valley while the balloons were in the air. It is actually quite difficult to find a peaceful area here in the morning hours. However, Mehmet took us on a path we had never been on before. The result was finding a cliff where we could see all the balloons in the background and the light was great. Our couple’s wedding was performed by their friend from teh States. They said loving sentences to each other, made their vows and put their rings on. They were really special moments.
Around 7 in the morning, we were at one of the horse ranches in Göreme. We included the horses around us in our background and took enjoyable photos. Then we followed a few training balloons that were still in the air and even got into the balloon basket in a valley. After the Çavuşin Hill shoot, we took a long break. Our couple both rested and had the chance to eat something together.
Sunset in Cappadocia
We met again in the evening, this time we were in the Love Valley with our classic blue vehicle. Amber’s hair, the sky and the blue tones of the vehicle were in harmony. After cooling down a bit in one of the caves in the valley, we continued shooting at the carpet rug shop. The wonderful tones here made our shooting even more colorful. We also did the sunset in Kızılçukur while sipping our coffees.
The shooting started in the afternoon of the second day. Our first stop was the cave church in the valley, which I love very much. The light effects here still excite me a lot. Afterwards, we set off towards Salt Lake for the sunset. The water level was ideal for shooting and I think our couple and I poured sauce on this wonderful shot. We did the finale at a wonderful steakhouse on the way back. We celebrated both the shooting and our couple’s happiness together. I wish them endless happiness.
