Dear Jennifer, one of my brides who discovered me from Los Angeles via the internet. She was planning her wedding in Cairo and I was very happy that they chose me from Turkey. Our couple organized a simple but enjoyable wedding with the pyramids, the iconic symbols of Egypt, as the backdrop.
Hotel, Pyramids and First Meeting
I arrived in Cairo two days before the wedding day and went to the Nine Pyramids View Hotel where the couple was staying. Jennifer and Keroles were having breakfast on the terrace of the hotel with their close friends from different parts of USA. Although it was the first time we met face to face, we were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome. After breakfast, we sat down and reviewed the wedding plan together.
After a quick rest at the hotel, I took a short walk around the Pyramids of Giza. Of course, seeing these magnificent structures was fascinating, but the touristic chaos in the area can spoil your enjoyment a bit. Unfortunately, it is not easy to walk around comfortably with the vendors and crowds. Fortunately, the Cairo city center and the areas outside were much more peaceful and enjoyable.
Dinner on the Nile and Local Rhythms
On the evening of the first day, we walked around the bazaar in the city center with the wedding guests. It was a high-energy, very colorful and culturally satisfying experience. On the second day, I went on a small exploration of Cairo on my own. I took lots of photos in the museums, mosques and narrow streets and tried to get a feel for the city. In the evening, we had dinner with the guests accompanied by a traditional boat tour on the Nile River and Egyptian dance shows.
Wedding Day: In the Shadow of the Pyramids
On the third day, preparations began in Jennifer’s room. Of course, the bride’s preparations took time. Our groom Keroles was ready in exactly 5 minutes 🙂 Maggi, the owner of MK Wedding, who organized the wedding, was extremely professional and helpful.
The hotel’s terrace with a view of the pyramids was prepared as the wedding venue. Although we were a little late for sunset, the wedding ceremony was really great. Then came the food, dancing and hours full of laughter… It was great to see Egyptian and American guests having fun in the same rhythm.
Last Day: Photo Shoot and Farewell
The next day, Jennifer and Keroles and I had a short wedding photo shoot with the pyramids as the backdrop. Unfortunately, since it was forbidden to enter the pyramids with the bride and groom, we took advantage of a nice café nearby. The photos were still incredibly impressive.
After the shoot, I returned to Turkey on the evening flight. It was a really busy but very enjoyable three days. It was a great honor for me to accompany a special moment in the lives of Jennifer and Keroles on this short but unforgettable adventure in North Africa.
