I was bouncing off the walls with excitement when I was invited to London for my friend Seda and Ali’s wedding photo shoot. Seda, a wedding photographer and all around amazing person is one of my favorite people on the planet. And when I met Ali on my previous trip to London, I knew he was a perfect match for Seda. I was thrilled to be a part of their big day, especially since it was happening in beautiful London. We kicked off the wedding day in North London starting with a photoshoot at Ali’s barber shop. Then we headed to Seda’s family home for some pre wedding prep shots with their friends and family. The energy was high and the smiles were big, resulting in some nice photos.
Stoke Newington Town Hall
The wedding ceremony was held at Stoke Newington Town Hall and let me tell you, the natural light in that place is a photographer’s dream come true. First, Ali and the guests took their seats. Then Seda made her grand entrance on her father’s arm. I captured every emotional moment as they said “I do.” And when they walked out of the hall as newlyweds surrounded by confetti, I was ready with my camera to capture it all. We even got some great group shots on the town hall’s garden steps.
Next up was a shoot in the vibrant and cosmopolitan neighborhood of Kings Cross in North London’s Camden borough. We hit up Granary Square and had a blast shooting around Coal Drops Yard, Lewis Cubitt Square and Canopy Market. One of my favorite moments was playing with the reflections in Gasholder Park. And the cherry on top? We got to drink and dine while we worked.
Kervan Banqueting Suite
Finally we ended the night at the Kervan Banqueting Suite in Edmonton where the newlyweds were spending their wedding night. It was a wild and fun filled night with a first dance, cake cutting and lots of dancing.
I feel so lucky to have been a part of this special day for Seda and Ali. I had an absolute blast capturing their love and laughter. And I wish them a lifetime of happiness and a mariage filled with more adventures than a travel photographer’s Instagram feed:).
