There are some encounters in life that leave a mark even after years have passed. I met my dear DJ Uğur Atay years ago on the occasion of a wedding in Cyprus. That day, we not only had a wonderful wedding shoot, but also an unforgettable moment where we had a wild time at a club in Kyrenia later in the evening. This acquaintance lasted for years. Our paths crossed at countless Cyprus weddings, we always kept in touch. And then the day came… I received a message from Uğur: “Gizem and I are getting married, I would love for you to take our photos.” My answer was clear: “Of course I will be there, either as a photographer or a guest!”
Preparations Started at Korineum
When the wedding day arrived, our couple started their preparations in the rooms of Korineum Golf Resort. But before that, we took a short break and took a natural photoshoot in the hotel’s garden under the pine trees, wearing their daily clothes. During the preparations, Gizem and Uğur had fun with their friends in their rooms and excitedly prepared for the wedding. We didn’t even realize how time passed.
A Fairytale-Like Outdoor Shoot on the Golf Course
Later in the day, we headed to the unique view of the golf courses for the outdoor shoot. I think we captured effective frames with the wide green areas, gently sloping hills and the golden evening sun. My favorite area was definitely the romantic photos by the pond.
A Wedding at Sunset and a Night Full of Music
The wedding took place under the soft sunset lights on the large grass area in the middle of Korineum. Then the guests moved to the dining area. The first dance was something else… Our couple came to the dance floor, passing through the sparklers in their friends’ hands. The dance that started with romantic music suddenly turned into a fun celebration.
Later in the evening, after the cake was cut, the microphone was passed to the DJ booth, to Uğur! The DJ groom made his mark on the night. Imagine a groom playing his own set at his own wedding! All the guests danced, had fun and had a blast all night long.
And the Finale: Like Champions in the Pool!
While the guests were returning to their hotels after midnight, Uğur and Gizem ended the wedding in a completely different way. They left the tiredness of the day behind by jumping into the hotel pool with all their clothes on. It was very enjoyable to witness those moments.
