The Beauty and Importance of the The Blue “Sultanahmet” Mosque
The Blue Mosque, also known as the “Sultanahmet Mosque“, is one of the most famous symbols of Istanbul. It is famous for its blue tiles, giant domes and six minarets. This mosque is very special because it is one of the symbols of Islamic history, Ottoman architecture and Istanbul. It was built in the early 1600s and is still used as a mosque today. Many Muslim couples living in various parts of the world dream of having their nikah here.
Sophie and Timur’s Nikah Ceremony
Dear Sophie and Timur live in Germany but have strong emotional ties to Istanbul. We helped them get married with a simple but spiritual Muslim nikah ceremony in the muezzin gallery on the terrace floor of the mosque. It is a quiet and peaceful place inside the mosque but away from the crowds of tourists. The ceremony was simple and beautiful. It was just the couple, and my friend Gökhan and I were the witnesses.
Our Photo Shoot in Sultanahmet and Galata
After the nikah, we had a wonderful two-hour photo shoot around Sultanahmet Square and the Galata Bridge. The weather was perfect and the couple looked amazing. Of course, we took photos with the Sultanahmet Mosque in the background. First, we walked through the gardens and streets of the old city. Then, we went to the Galata Bridge, where the sea, boats and seagulls made a perfect backdrop.
