Cappadocia Local Photographer and French Couple

Jessie and Renaud, are a beautiful French couple in terms of both physically and personally. This was one of my most enjoyable photo shoots in Cappadocia. Of course, Ralf, one of the best wedding photographers in the Netherlands, and dear photographer Niyazi, who just started to live in the region, had a great affect on this.

We came to Cappadocia with Ralf over Nevsehir one day before the shooting. We went to first shooting spot for sunrise, and checked the shooting angles and backdrops. Our goal was to go there very early in the morning and get the best spot on the hill without before other couples come:). Due to the increasing interest of couples and photographers in Cappadocia in recent years, you come across other photographers shooting at the same time, and some places can be very popular at the time of the flight of balloons.

With The Balloons

We took Jessie and Renaud from the Butterfly Special Cave Hotel where they stayed and went to the departure point of the balloons before sunrise. Thanks to the fact that we came almost earlier than the balloon team, we had a great photo shoot spot. There was an ideal atmosphere, the colors of the sky and the light clouds came together and created very impressive colors. Creating a composition while flying dozens of balloons in the air is a lot of fun and something that a photographer doesn’t normally encounter. You are struggling with an another parameter to catch clean backgrounds. Or you are positioning according to the wind to capture the best balloon image. It’s like playing tetris. It was also very nice to watch Ralf’s happiness and excitement during our shooting with balloons.

We did the shooting at the sunrise in Love Valley while the balloons were still in the air. Here, a stray dog came next to us and chose to lie on Jessie’s wedding dress and rest.

Afternoon Shooting

After breakfast and lunch at noon, we discovered an interesting church under the guidance of Niyazi for the shooting. It was one of about 400 churches in this region. There are also about 200 underground cities. The area was covered with soft rocks as a result of volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago. People who settled in the region during the Paleolithic period carved these rocks throughout history and built shelters and underground cities. After the Hittites, this place has become one of the most important centers of Christianity. The first Christians who escaped from the pressure of the Roman Empire took shelter here to be secure. The walls of some of the churches created by carving the caves are painted with colorful icons. Especially the churches in the Open Air Museum are very well preserved and can be visited.

Afterwards our tour in the valley ended with Goreme center, carpet shop, horse farm and sunset in the red valley. Then we went to Dibek Restaurant for dinner together, to taste food from the classic Turkish cuisine.

I wish my dear Jessie and Renaud endless happiness in their new lives. Sincerely.
