Elopement Wedding Photos in Milan

Burcu and Fatih are a couple teaching in Istanbul. Instead of a traditional wedding, they decided to marry in the Embassy of Turkey in Milan Italy without anyone attending the wedding ceremony. Of course, I happily accepted to photograph this extraordinary wedding. My friend from Verona, Davide Garonzi, came to support me. This was my third shoot with Davide, we had 3 photo shoots in Italy and 1 photo shoot in Turkey together. He is both a super person, a very talented and helpful photographer.

Wedding Day

On the wedding day, we started shooting in the preparation room of the hotel where we stayed together. Afterwards we arrived at the Duomo square where the cathedral was located. We had a photo shooting on the backdrop of the magnificent cathedral and the alleys around it. This church is the second largest one in Italy and the 5th in the world. Its construction took 519 years. It is a 108-meter-long imposing gothic building. Next to the church is the oldest and still active shopping center in Italy. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is truly a magnificent building. It can be considered the ancestor of today’s shopping malls. Its name comes from the first king of Italy. This place with its wonderful light games and colors always fascinates me. It gives exciting and surprising results for photo shooting.

Towards 17:00 we went to the Turkish Embassy for the wedding. Of course I would be a witness. The other wedding witness would be Davide. However, we encountered a surprise. Davide couldn’t be a witness because he was an Italian citizen and we had to find a Turkish citizen. There was only one person in the consulate at that time, a Turkish person living in Italy who was waiting for his documents at the moment. We asked him and he did not say no 🙂 It was very fun for me to take a photo and become a witness 🙂

Photo Session

After the wedding, we bought champagne and glasses from the first grocery store in front of us and celebrated in a nearby park. I love these spontaneous developments. Afterwards, we went to the garden of Sforzesco Castle and took a few photos there until it got dark.

Then, we had dinner in a delicious restaurant recommended by Davide. The owners of the restaurant did not say no to us and played a nice dance music and Burcu and Fatih made their first dance after the meal here.

We shared a busy and very productive day with our couple. This wonderful couple got married about 2 months after meeting each other. I wish the most enjoyable of everything and the best of everything for them from now on.
